We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who responded to our recent appeal letter. Your responses, in addition to existing membership payments and golden tenners, enables LDCF to continue its work within the party. In particular it helps us to pursue additional work on projects such as the forthcoming one on Liberal political philosophy and Christianity.
Office Arrangements
Zöe’s time covering Debbie’s maternity leave comes to an end on 26th September and we would like to wish her all the best for the birth of her and Chris’ (Web Coordinator) baby which is due mid October. Between this time and Debbie’s official return in January, Debbie will be working one day per week from home covering essential admin tasks, membership applications, etc. Should you contact LDCF during this time please be aware that it may take us longer than normal to respond.
SAO Status
At the 2006 AGM members tasked the exec with moving the Forum forward to the point where it could request status as a Specified Association Organisation (SAO) – the top tier of party organisations within the Liberal Democrats – with the aim of making it apparent outside the party that Lib Dem Christians are making a crucial difference in policy making and the work of the party as a whole.
Having reached the required financial and membership targets we will be making our application shortly. However, to do so we need to make an amendment to our current constitution clarify our commitment to the aims of the federal party. Thesechanges have been outlined in a letter from Martin Turner (Chair) sent to all members in early August. If you are a new member or have not seen a copy of this letter please contact
