With rumours of a General Election being called as early as October 2007, LDCF is preparing a number of resources to support candidates and voters during this period.
We aim to equip not only Christian candidates, but also to advise any
Lib Dem candidate about how to approach a Christian audience, and to
give Christian voters an insight into Liberal Democrat policies and
views. Here are some of the resources that we will be offering. 'Why Vote Lib Dem' pack: Updated for the spring 2007 local elections, this guide sets out some of the questions that a Christian audience might have about party policies, and offers explanations of a wide range of party policy on issues including care for creation, sustainable communities and cutting crime. Preparing for church hustings: Many Parliamentary candidates will be asked to take part in hustings debates run by local churches. This guide is designed to help candidates prepare for these debates by suggesting ways in which Lib Dem policy can be presented to Christians. Training at conference: There will be a training session on the subject of 'Harnessing the Christian Vote' at the party conference in Brighton, led by Debbie Enever and Jo Holland - Monday 17th September 14:30-15:45 Lancing 3, Holiday Inn. Please contact the LDCF office for a copy of the presentation if you cannot attend the session.
